Over the past few years a number of excellent websites, blogs, and Facebook pages have sprung up around the world on the study and development of Mantle of the Expert. Below are a list of those we know about, please get in touch if you know of any others.

organised by David Allen. Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. This excellent website is a treasure-trove of videos, articles, and other resources exploring the use and application of Dorothy Heathcote’s ‘four models for active learning’.


Facebook Group: The Commission Model of Teaching. Organised and run by David Allen.
A busy and active Facebook group with daily updates on Dorothy Heathcote’s archive of work – papers, videos, and workshop notes. Along with new material from recent conferences.


Mantle of the Expert Aotearoa, a website for the thriving network of teachers in New Zealand. Organised by Viv Aitken and the recently established Trust funded by the New Zealand government.Includes resources, planning, news, and professional learning materials.


A facebook group, organised by Bob Selderslaghs for Dutch speaking teachers and educators.

Mantle of the Expert, Inexpertly – a blog post by Helen Nash, a classroom teacher working in early years and key stage 1 in a small primary school in England.
Helen’s blogs are full of photographs and honest descriptions of her development of Mantle of the Expert .

Priory Church in Wales Primary School, Brecon. Priory is a Mantle of the Expert training school with expertise in implementing Mantle of the Expert in a Wales context, incorporating the new Wales curriculum.
