Study Morning: The Commission Model
We’ve been working on an Erasmus+ project exploring Dorothy Heathcote’s Commission Model.
Is it different to project based learning?
How does it work within the demands of school curriculums currently?
We’re sharing our findings at a free study morning on September 30th.
If you are interested in Dorothy’s methods, work in education, are a student or in a teacher training programme, this morning in Woodrow First School may be of interest to you.
Woodrow have been learning about and using Mantle of the Expert for twelve years now. For the past six years we have been working with partners across Europe in three Erasmus + projects to find out more about Heathcote’s models of learning.
During this morning, David Allen will talk about what the The Commission Model is.
You will hear about two successful projects run in school since 2020 and how you might start and structure a project in your own setting.
Tom Dipple from the Black Country Living Museum will share his experience of working in this way with the school.
There is also the opportunity to see Commission Model in action by joining children in their classroom.
