Situation
Bradley’s Ltd-Repairers of old Toys. We have a company which is dedicated to the repair and preservation of toys. They have had many people from all walks of life commission them-and have worked for the palace as an appointed company. They go back to 1886 where their founder Evelyn Bradley repaired the first broken toy…

Steps In
I will use any artefacts already in class as donated toys as well as written signs for the class to work from. Using inductive language as far as possible- I will talk from the point of view of a doctor in charge of the new ward at the hospital with a problem-too many toys, lots of them lovingly looked after-but too old perhaps? Also the recent donation of a large toy bear brings in issues of health and how we should respond to the sender.
Points to watch out for:
- I will be using a mixture of sign systems-see if you can spot the moves that help the class begin to use language-or now time language.
- If we need a presence of a toy bear-keep an eye out on the language and how we get one!
- The company will have a workshop and I will try to get the image of this by using drawings and in the head imaginings -to utilise the dramatic imagination of the class. See above for the ingredients of dramatic imagination.
- There will also be a number of tensions I will either use or help structure from the responses of the class. Look in the booklet for the pages on tensions
