Weaving our stories – Bringing together educational expertise from the UK and New Zealand

August 27th, 28th, 29th & 30th, 2009

This major international conference is an exciting collaboration bringing together followers and practitioners of Dorothy Heathcote’s dramatic-inquiry approaches from both Britain and New Zealand.

Hosted by the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand, delegates will engage in a programme of events centred on the learning opportunities and challenges of Dorothy Heathcote’s Mantle of the Expert Approach.
With Keynote speeches from Prof. Dorothy Heathcote and Luke Abbott, and practical, interactive, workshops lead by experienced practitioners from both New Zealand and Britain, delegates will be able to contribute and participate in the ongoing exploration and development of moe, its use and application in schools across the world at the beginning of the 21st Century.

Hi team – conference is developing very nicely. Lots of interest from around NZ and beyond. A real buzz gathering!

Dorothy is pre-recording her keynote address for us in the next couple of weeks and we hope to make a DVD copy available to delegates so that will be an amazing bonus on top of the chance to hear and see Dorothy via the live link AND work with Luke, Tim, Julia and Allana in the flesh as it were!

The conference is being planned as a combination of hands on workshops, plenary addresses and smaller group discussion and reflection sessions. Lots of work is going in to make sure the event is of direct relevance for delegates and they are supported to go away and implement Mantle in their own particular settings in a distinctly NZ context….. Life changing stuff!

Thanks for the interest everyone – if you are keen to attend, I’d recommend enrolling now as the places are filling up, and the earlybird rate is only available for a limited time….

Best Wishes to Mantle friends worldwide, Viv
