I am an international teacher, currently working in the middle east. I am very interested in Mantle of the Expert. My current school is 96% EAL and I am wondering if anybody has tried this with children with little English and if it worked.

Hello. Thank you for contacting us. There is some evidence of moe being used with children who have little English. Dorothy Heathcote recently taught a class of students in Turkey for a week, but had the benefit of a translator. West Town Primary School in Peterborough, UK, is a school using moe which has a very large number of EAL children from an extremely diverse range of backgrounds. You might like to contact Hannah Quinn, their lead moe teacher, to discuss their experiences and uses of the approach, she can be contacted through the school's website: http://www.millenniumschools.co.uk/pub/peterb/west-town/
